| Doves - There is something very tranquil about doves. They have been released in movies, celebrations, homecomings and I'm sure many other areas. Their cooing sounds are deep almost like the musical instrument the recorder. This is a very cautious and slow moving bird until they feel threatened, then they move like lightning. Doves and pigeons battle with other birds by using shoulder of the wing to strike the other bird. This can be very effective and strong even as last defense to predators. I have seen the pairs stay together right through the winter in our area. |
